SUE FEHSER
VP of Recruiting
Sue is a Talent Acquisition Professional with well-rounded experience in both agency and client-side recruitment.
Sue is passionate about her craft in all things talent acquisition and credits her multi-faceted background to her invaluable ability to bring a unique perspective. Sue studied philosophy, political science and business at Boston College, and joined Pfizer Headquarters in Human Resources immediately upon graduation, where she had interned the prior summer, learning much about the inner workings of a top-tier international firm which set the “gold standard” for employee experience at the time. Having always loved math and business, she landed a prestigious training program with investment management firm, Sanford C. Bernstein, and became certified (Series 7, 63) to manage stock portfolios of high-net-worth clientele. Around this time she was also accepted into Cornell Law School, but deferred admission in order to satisfy her curiosity about the financial industry.
Once Sue received her J.D. from Cornell, she was able to blend her financial and legal background by joining a law firm in New York City notorious for helping high-net-worth clients and celebrities to navigate highly complex financial disputes. Six years later, Sue pivoted her career joining a premier search firm based in the Northeast. Sue found her true calling in recruitment and succeeded in hunting down the best talent and artfully negotiating deals.
With an established book of business, Sue founded her own agency, Riverview Recruiting, in 2009, where she recruited executive and tech talent for high growth startups (many of which are well known brands 15 years later) including The Ladders, Shutterstock, Business Insider, Lawline, Paperless Post, BeenVerified, Teladoc, SinglePlatform, and Gate Guru (acquired by TripAdvisor)– where she was eventually invited to join the in-house recruitment team.
After TripAdvisor, Sue joined Carbon Black (2014-2019), where she recruited across multiple domains (technical and non-technical) helping the company scale from 320 employees to over 1200 and through a successful IPO. She then joined Pegasystems where she led engineering recruitment for all of North America (2019-2021). Craving a return to startups, she recently helped a Series B startup double the size of their core engineering team and then joined an even smaller startup (Series A) as the Founding Recruiter / TA Manager, recruiting across Engineering/Product, Marketing, Sales, Implementation/Enablement, and Customer Success.
When she’s not working or shuttling her two teenagers around to their sports activities, Sue enjoys travelling, oil painting, and hiking with her dogs.
