APRIL MALONE

People Ops Manager

April has been in People Ops since 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration & Management from the University of Texas at the Permian Basin and an Associate Professional Human Resources (aPHR) certification from HRCI. She is currently studying for SHRM-CP certification.

She started as an Executive Assistant, but her heart for employees compelled her to pivot into HR. April was a founding team member of Open Core Ventures; an early-stage venture capital firm focused on starting commercial open-source companies centered around open-source software projects. At OCV, April supported business and people operations for 11 seed-stage startups. Her expertise includes incorporation, state registration, vendor management, procurement, global recruitment, international PEOs, benefits, employee relations, onboarding, and more! She considers herself an operational-minded Jill of all trades and tech guru who knows startups' inner workings and struggles.

In her personal life, April loves to spend time outdoors in the beautiful state of Colorado. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, gaming, hiking, cooking, and jamming to music.
