JANET PETRIE

VP of People

Janet brings over 20 years of experience across Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and leadership, partnering with organizations from early-stage startups to global enterprises. She has worked alongside founders, executive teams, and investors to build and scale high-performing organizations through every stage of growth, from startup to scale-up to M&A transactions. Her expertise includes building and leading teams, driving employee engagement, navigating complex change, and leading talent acquisition strategies, as well as operationalizing company values and integrating acquisitions. Janet also brings a strong business orientation, with experience in P&L management, sales partnership, and using data-driven insights to inform workforce planning, organizational design, and headcount strategy. She also brings international experience, having worked in Australia for four years, which informs her global perspective on people and culture.


Since joining T2T in 2022, Janet has partnered with more than 22 clients navigating periods of rapid growth and transformation across industries, including software, digital health, biotech, luxury retail, and nonprofits. She is known for helping organizations align their people strategies with business outcomes while creating environments where both the company and its people can thrive.


Prior to T2T, Janet served as VP of People and Culture at a software and services company focused on accelerating the clean energy ecosystem. She joined when the company had 85 employees and played a key role in scaling it to over 700 employees across multiple countries. During her tenure, she led the People function through two ownership changes, five acquisitions and integrations, a full rebrand, and the company’s evolution into a $1B B-Corp unicorn. She built and led the People, Culture, and Workplace Operations teams, overseeing employee experience, talent acquisition, leadership development, and inclusivity initiatives. Her work also included supporting SOC 2 compliance, contributing to B-Corp certification efforts, leading performance management practices, and providing executive coaching.


At her core, Janet is driven by a deep belief in people. She brings a leadership style grounded in authenticity, trust, generosity, and an abundance mindset. She is passionate about creating workplaces where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to do their best work. Known for her warmth, humor, and ability to connect, Janet helps leaders and teams navigate complexity while bringing out the best in one another.


Outside of work, Janet enjoys hiking with her 100-pound Goldendoodle, Sir Finn, training in boxing and mixed martial arts, and chasing sunsets around the world;  from Chugiak, Alaska to Havelock North, New Zealand. She also volunteers as a coach and mentor with Ascending Athletes, supporting professional athletes as they transition into the corporate world, and is a longtime advocate for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, previously serving on the board of the Aurora-Montbello, Colorado chapter.
