JANET PETRIE

VP of People

Janet brings 20 years of experience in Engagement, Inclusivity and Belonging,Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Sales and Leadership, which she gained from working with several rapid growth starts ups and large-scale global companies as an individual contributor, consultant, player-coach manager, as well as an executive leader.  She has worked closely with owners and the C-suite to create and execute exemplary work environments and to manage multi-million P&L’s, diligence, and VC and PE relationships.

 

Janet’s most recent role was VP of People and Culture at a software and services company focused on accelerating the clean energy ecosystem. She joined the company when there were 85 employees and in 5 years she played an instrumental role of leading the people function through two changes of ownership, 5 acquisitions and integrations, a rebranding, and the ultimate classification of a $1 billion B-Corp unicorn with 700 employees across multiple countries. She built and lead the People, Culture, and Workplace Ops teams and was in charge of employee experience and engagement, talent acquisition, leadership training, as well as the Inclusive Excellence, Diversity, Equity, and Action (IDEA) initiative. (throw in some SOC-2 compliance, performance management training, executive coaching and a big dose of humor and you get a glimpse into a day in the life!) 

 

Janet takes great pride in her purpose to support employees by fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace in which all people can bring their authentic selves, while contributing to a companies mission and success.

In her off-time, Janet volunteers with Ascending Athletes, as a coach and mentor assisting professional athletes transitioning from professional sports to the corporate sector. Janet is a lifelong advocate for Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America as a volunteer and sat on the board for the Aurora-Montbello Colorado Chapter for many years.
